Many congratulations from Prostate Action and Simplyhealth to all 215 of the pantastic participants who completed Pants in the Park in Regent’s Park this Saturday 25 June.
After weather forecasts promising us lots of sun and clear blue skies we were greeted with overcast conditions on Saturday morning (typical British day!). However with the help of Louise, our wonderful face painter, and the many fabulously decorated pants we soon brightened up our spot of Regent’s Park.
Cheer Fit led us through a fun warm up/cheer routine, whilst modelling our fabulous golden pants (looking a lot better than the Prostate Action staff have ever looked in the golden pants!). There were spare pom-poms for the children and our very own Pants in the Park personalised cheer!
The fun run began at 11am, we had speedy runners who completed the course in super quick time of 17 minutes and those who took it at a more leisurely pace, everyone was awarded with a Pants in the Park medal and a great big cheer at the finish line.
The prizes for Best Pants went to Aaron Holmes and John Rice who completed the 5km route in a fantastic time whilst wearing the same pair of pants – great coordination guys!
We would like to say a special thank you to Chris Blackwell who recruited a large team of friends, family and work colleagues from Lewisham Fire Brigade to join him at Pants in the Park. The fire fighters joined us immediately after a night shift – which we felt was a great dedication to the cause.
If you still have sponsorship to collect please do chase it for us, the more money we raise the more funds we will have to help beat prostate disease. Please send cheques to Prostate Action, 6 Crescent Stables, 139 Upper Richmond Road, London SW15 2TN. Remember if you raise over £50 we will send you one of our wonderful Pants in the Park t-shirts and if you reach £100 you will get a pair of our world famous golden pants!
We hope that everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did. If you would like to take part or volunteer to help out at next year’s event please email us at events@prostateaction.org.uk
