Living with prostate disease

For most men living with prostate disease, the biggest concern is dealing with urinary symptoms. These may be short-term irritations or chronic problems.

Other considerations involve dealing with side-effects of treatment and coming to terms with changes to your lifestyle. Some treatments may require a period of catheterisation; others can affect your fertility. Knowledge is power when it comes to adjusting to these potential changes.

Prostate disease does not just affect you. Your partner, family, friends and colleagues can all be affected to varying degrees. Getting the right support, be it emotional or practical, can help make it easier.
