We have a system that enables us to have a training surgeon next to a consultant surgeon whilst operating, and so that grant has not just helped me but indirectly helped many other surgeons in the UK perform this operation well.

Dr Valentine MacaulayCurrent researchI have a small lab working on developing a new cancer treatment, specifically for prostate cancer. The grants awarded by Prostate Action are supporting two key laboratory staff, and funding hi-tech experiments into the role of a protein called IGF receptor, which helps prostate cancer cells to grow and spread.
