Apply for funding

What we fund

We fund basic and translational research carried out in a university, medical school or hospital, into any aspect of the three prostate diseases: benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate cancer and prostatitis.

To apply for a grant, research proposals must demonstrate:

  • Excellence – Usually Alpha rated by peer review process.
  • Sustainability – Conducted in a university, medical school or hospital.
  • Relevance – Clear pathway from hypothesis to potential alleviation/treatment of prostate disease.
  • Originality and a clear case of fully justified financial need.

Applying for research

Applications are invited into all aspects of prostate disease, up to a maximum of £100,000 and it is anticipated that half a million pounds will be given away in new research funding.

Applications will be received between 9 January and 16 April 2012, and a full decision will be made in September by the Prostate Action Scientific Committee, ready for the new academic year in October. Files must not be larger than 3MB and must be in Microsoft Word format in Calibri font, size 10.
